Parcel Shipping System (PSS) is a
full-function shipping system that automatically weighs and rates each shipment
and produces the needed paperwork for any small parcel or LTL carrier. There are
several software and hardware options that allow PSS to be customized to fit
your specific shipping requirements. You can also use PSS to streamline your
picking and packing processes.
PSS can produce all your required paperwork for your shipments including:
nationally approved UPS and Post Office manifests; various shipping reports; bar
coded labels; COD tags; and custom documentation.
Since PSS is
integrated with the DMS database, current information is always available to
your entire organization. For example, the shipping department does not need to
enter any shipto address information since that data is retrieved from the
order, and customer service immediately knows when and how a package was
shipped. Other benefits of this integration include: preventing overshipments;
automatic COD and insurance calculations; assigning a carrier based on the
customer or at order entry time; quoting freight costs at order entry time;
updating inventory based on what was actually packed; preventing canceled or
credit hold orders from being shipped; and much more.
The SCI Parcel Shipping System is an optional extra-cost addition to the SCI
Distribution Management System.
